Golf Coaches

David Hewitt
Coming from a succesful career in Spain, David has worked with Tour winners, amateur champions and also Miguel Jimenez Jnr! David brings a high level of international experience to the Team. Since becoming fully qualified in 2003, David also worked at the Warren Golf Club in Essex, working with 4 time Solheim Cup Captain Michelle 'Mickey' Walker, where he developed a number of initiatives to develop golf in the School Sports Parnership. David also studied a Masters in Long Term Athletic Development, achieved TPI Level 2 Golf Professional and is a qualified football coach, having coached Chelsea's young academy players. David is currently on the DCGS Coach Development programme and has just returned from a specialist Coaching Weekend with Master Professional Pete Cowen. 

Andrew Simmonds
After a successful junior amateur career Andrew registered as PGA Assistant Professional at Oundle Golf Club, Northamptonshire from October 2006, and enrolled onto the PGA foundation degree in Professional Golf Studies through the University of Birmingham. Andrew passed the degree course with merit and was elected to full membership of the PGA in October 2009. He then travelled to America to shadow some of America’s top coaches, attend the PGA merchandise show and Titleist Performance Institute seminars in Orlando. Andrew is now a fully qualified Titleist Performance Institute coach and looking to forge a successful career in coaching at the Darren Clarke Golf School.

Peter Morgan
Peter qualified as a PGA professional having completed the PGA foundation degree in Professional Golf Studies through the University of Birmingham. Peter has a strong coaching background at all levels having trained at Bangor Golf Club with Michael Bannon (coach to Rory Mcilroy) for five years and also having benefited from two years at the David Leadbetter Golf Academy - Shandon Park. Peter is one of the Golfing Union of Ireland Elite coaches, working with the Ulster squads and has also assisted with the coaching of the Irish National Boys panel at Carton House. 

Donal Scott
Donal has joined the team for 2011 and brings with him a wealth of experience gained from his excellent career path to date, gained whilst at his time at Edmonstown GC in Dublin. Voted Top Irish Assistant 2009-10 we are pleased that Donal is bringing his specialism in putting to the School. With a BSc in Sports Management, and as a fully qualified TPI Fitness Instructor, Donal yet again adds to the excellent team already in place. Donal will also be taking the lead in our newly launched Transition Year programme and is excited to be working with the School and the students. 

Seamus Duffy
As part of the coaching team, Seamus continues to deliver various aspects of golf coaching within the School programme. Seamus is a fully qualified TPI Coach. With 15 years experience as a golf coach, Seamus has a good knowldge of the basic fundamentals surrounding the game of golf.   

Robbie Cannon
Having played golf at the highest level as an Irish International and combining this with his knowldge and experience within the field of Golf Fitness, Robbie is in an excellent position to advise Darren Clarke Golf School students on all matters of nutrition and strength and conditioning for golf. His experience proves invaluable in helping the coaches get the best from all our students. Robbie is also a fully qualified Titleist Performance Institute instructor, and will help the students conduct their workouts properly to get the best possible results.


Educational Tutors

Gary McKeegan
With over 10 years experience of lecturing in the further and higher education sectors, Gary is the Curriculum Coordinator at the Darren Clarke Golf School, which includes lecturing and the pastoral care of the students.  His subject specialisms include Coach Education, Sports Leadership, Physiology and Performance Management. Gary is a key figure in the education side of the programme and is well respected by both his peers and students alike. Outside of the golf school, Gary has a wealth of experience working with National Governing Bodies of Sport particularly in the area of performer development.  As a former elite level cyclist, he currently is Coaching Director of Cycling Ireland.  Gary’s sporting interests include shooting, sailing, adventure racing and triathlon.  

Tony Mulholland
A fully qualified PGA Pro, Tony gains a high degree of credibility when delivering the education, further adding to the whole experience. Having been in the golf industry within Northern Ireland for many years, Tony is a valued member of the educational team. 

Lisa Dalziel
We are pleased to have Lisa back with us at the School, whereby she brings a high degree of sporting experience and as a good level golfer certainly adds a high degree of credibility as a tutor.
