Meet The Coaches & Tutors
(PGA, HNDGM) is the Head of Operations at the School. He has gained valuable experience previously working at prestigious venues such as Gleeneagles, The Dukes, and Lough Erne. Andy has a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Golf Facility Management (2006). Andy is also a TaylorMade Master Fitter and heads our TaylorMade Performance Center based at the School. Andy, originally from New Zealand, had a successful amateur career, representing his province for 8 years, and was a winner of several regional and national tournaments (including the New Zealand Boys title). He also qualified to play in two New Zealand Opens which is part of the Australisian Tour.
(PGA, HNDSLM, PT) is a Full Time Coach at the Darren Clarke Golf School. He has gained vital experience in both coaching and strength and conditioning working at Edenmore Golf and Country Club for 4 years. Stuart has a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Sport and Leisure Management and is also a qualified Level 3 Personal Trainer. Stuart is a qualified Taylormade Master Fitter at the Taylormade Fitting Centre which is based at the school.
Gary McKeegan - has over 10 years experience of lecturing in the further and higher education sectors, Gary is the Curriculum Coordinator at the Darren Clarke Golf School, which includes lecturing and the pastoral care of the students. His subject specialisms include Coach Education, Sports Leadership, Physiology and Performance Management. Away from the golf school, Gary has a wealth of experience working with National Governing Bodies of Sport particularly in the area of performance development. As a former elite level cyclist, he is the current Coaching Director of Cycling Ireland.Lisa McCavery - brings a high degree of sporting experience and as a good level golfer certainly adds a high degree of credibility as a tutor.
Volunteers and Student PlacementsHere at the school we offer the opportunity for volunteers to get involved and also for budding young professinals to gain some expereince through our student placement programme. Current Volunteers:
Cian Lanigan - Cian has recently graduated from Leeds University and specialised in social media. Cian is looking to get into a marketing role and is doing a great job of helping us out with our many socail media avenues.
David McDowell - David is recently retired and is a local single figure handicap golfer. David spent many years working as an engineer and is currently helping the school with both office and golf range duties.
Josh Lockhart - Josh is currently doing a student placement with us and is studying Sport Theory and Practice at Jordanstown University. We currently do not have any vacancies for our volunteer or student placment posts but if you would like to enquire about any future opportunities please email
